Session Overview
For decades, UNCF has hosted successful programs and events that support Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs) and students in Northern California, and we know we can do better at reaching and engaging more people who care about our work. Should we lean into press releases, media outreach, storytelling, social media campaigns, something else?
We’re seeking a volunteer with experience in public relations, communications, and/or marketing strategy to help us consider and prioritize activities we should pursue to attract sponsors for our Innovation and Research Inspired STEM Empowerment (iRISE) program and gala that will take place from March 18-23, 2024, in San Francisco.
We look forward to sharing with our volunteer more about who is traditionally supporting our efforts (i.e., tech, health care, legal, finance, hospitality, gaming, energy, etc. ) and hearing your ideas about how we can engage individuals from additional organizations and industries committed to helping us ensure more African American students are college-ready, enroll in college and persist to graduation.
Nonprofit Overview
UNCF’s mission is to build a robust and nationally-recognized pipeline of under-represented students who, because of UNCF support, become highly-qualified college graduates and to ensure that our network of member institutions is a respected model of best practice in moving students to and through college.
