Session Overview

We are a humanist community group planning a series of public talks in February on Church-State relations. We have several nationally known speakers. The talks will be in person and on Zoom (basically a webinar). Our goal is primarily to get people to attend in person at our location (Teaneck, NJ) but secondarily, we want people to attend via Zoom. We have extensive outreach planned to local groups that we know and we expect the speakers to publicize their talks on their social media, but we want to expand our reach to find people that have never heard of us. We would like to make use of Facebook ads but have very limited experience with it, though we know the basics (how to set a geographic location, and how to pick keywords). Meetup has been successful at bringing a very small but steady flow of people to us, but mainly on Zoom, both through the door.

We would like some ideas on what else we might do on social media and/or how to better make use of Facebook.

We have a very good flyer almost ready.
