Project Overview

We lack an Operations Manager! We are looking for a volunteer who can audit our CRM needs and make a recommendation for a tech solution. This volunteer will also assist us in researching and selecting a payment portal for virtual donations.

We need to:
--Assess and implement a means to track donor data that meets our needs, is flexible in the ways it needs to be to meet those needs, and is low-cost and manageable to use

-Select and implement a payment portal that can handle the various levels of recurring donations and hopefully also allow one-off clients to purchase a series of meetups, etc. Flexibility and robust use (but also low cost and easy to understand) are key. We have a short list of possibilities, but our ED would like help assessing them. She would like your recommendations and reasons why one might be better than another for our Organization.

Overall, we need your expertise to guide us as we strive to build a structured back office that will allow us to increase our organizational capacity. We know what our strategic goals are, but we have absolutely no idea of the order of the steps we need to take or which path to start down first in order to achieve them.

We are poised for growth but our lack of Operations and Systems expertise has stopped us in our tracks. We have narrowed it down to 3 CRM choices and have put into place three payment portals--which are a lot of payment portals--but we don't know how to assess the value of the tech. We figured we would be able to choose after using each one for a year or so - but that has not been the case. They all seem about the same? Ease of use and minimal cost are important. It is also possible to consolidate tech in some way.

We need your expertise! We do not have a systems analyst, an operations manager, or any administrators except our very creative Executive Director.

The ED has spent many hours researching CRMs and payment portals and has a short list of viable candidate tech that has been either strongly recommended or simply has brilliant and compelling marketing. However, we are stuck because the ED is a words person, not a numbers person! She will need your strong enthusiasm for using tech to make her job easier, freeing her up for other uses of her time!

At the end of this project, we would like to have a solid plan for implementing a CRM and a payment platform. Ideally, our ED will love both products and have a clear strategy for evaluating how well these tech solutions are working for our organization.
