Project Overview

We seek an experienced digital media strategist with social media experience to provide high-level strategic direction to RxBalance in two areas:
1. Growing engagement, increasing individual donors, gaining subscribers, and attracting foundation and government grants.
2. Shaping our approach to connecting with specific audiences seeking reliable drug and disease information online and through various social media platforms.

Our ideal volunteer is an experienced digital and social media marketer, with a rich background in healthcare, medicine, or pharmaceuticals and a deep understanding of the digital domain. We are looking to attract a volunteer who has experience creating detailed digital media plans, including knowledge of tactics for using paid media and social media sites to find target audiences and measure engagement with them.

Volunteer Responsibilities:
-Strategic Development: Craft a comprehensive digital media plan that leverages paid online media and social media outlets such as Facebook, Instagram, YouTube, and TikTok. Your strategy will guide us in effectively reaching and engaging with our target audiences.

-Analytics and Metrics: Utilize your expertise in media analytics to identify key metrics for measuring audience engagement. Your insights will help us understand our impact and refine our approach to maximize reach and engagement.

-Collaboration and Leadership: Work closely with our team with an understanding of the needs of our academic partners to ensure our digital efforts align with our mission and values. Our first research project involves communicating with patients taking antidepressants for depression, anxiety, PTSD, and postpartum depression.

Would you like to make a tangible difference in how healthcare information is disseminated and consumed, contributing to better health outcomes for individuals globally? We are RxBalance, a Bay Area nonprofit, that shares unbiased clinical evidence to counterbalance corporate promotional narratives around medicines and disease. In collaboration with academic physicians, we're spearheading initiatives to promote a more rational pharmaceutical care system. We are part of an international movement to promote the rational use of medicines.

We are almost finished with a creative work plan for our new website and have developed detailed personas of the sorts of people we want to attract as consumers, donors, and partners.
