Sign Language Interpreter for Parenting Course in Florida
We are seeking a dedicated volunteer Sign Language Interpreter to join our team at the Parent Education Stabilization Course (PESC). Our mission is to provide accessible and supportive education to parents, and your role will be pivotal in ensuring that our parenting courses are inclusive to the deaf and hard-of-hearing community in Florida.
Key Responsibilities:
-Provide sign language interpretation for our parenting courses, making the content accessible to deaf and hard-of-hearing participants.
-Work closely with our educators to understand course material for accurate interpretation.
-Sessions will be prerecorded and available online.
-Help adapt course materials into an accessible format for deaf and hard-of-hearing participants.
Qualifications:
-Proficiency in American Sign Language (ASL).
-Experience in sign language interpretation, preferably in educational settings.
-Ability to translate complex parenting and educational concepts into sign language.
-Residency in Florida or ability to provide remote interpretation services for Florida-based participants.
-Sensitivity to and understanding of the needs of the deaf and hard-of-hearing community.
