Advance ESG is a new non-profit with a unique and relatively unknown approach designed to create positive changes in corporate environmental and social policies. Our current focus is on companies that continue to use child labor, including forced (slave) labor, in cocoa farming. There are over 1.5 million children harvesting cocoa in Ghana and Cote D’Ivore. Many children are trafficked from Mali and Burkina Faso to work under slavery-like conditions. Forced child labor routinely results in extreme bodily and mental harm, and in nearly every case, it cuts children as young as 10-years-old off from schooling and health care, restricting their fundamental rights and threatening their futures.
We recently co-authored a shareholder resolution requiring Mondelez, one of the world's largest snack companies, to address this inhumane practice in their supply chains by 2025. Our next goals include addressing other similar issues in business supply chains, such as the continued use of forced labor in the mines supplying cobalt to the tech industry. Our vision is an ethical and sustainable world in which safeguarding the environment and protecting human rights are fundamental in corporate decision-making.
We have an up-to-date business plan, a comprehensive marketing plan, and a robust social media presence. Our experienced nonprofit team will provide the required resources and feedback to ensure the success of this project.
