Project Overview

We need an experienced social media and marketing professional to work with our team in the development of a social media and marketing plan and to help our young but awesome staff create engaging content. The end product would be a social media and marketing plan and content calendar with examples of content that our team can follow. By sharing your expertise, you will guide our team members to create ready-to-post social media posts to provide disaster relief guidance and help communities and disaster volunteers stay safe when disasters strike. Our mission is unique as we honor and protect our Ready Responders by providing vital protective equipment and training. You can help keep those who serve safe!

Help a small but mighty nonprofit create a social media and marketing plan and content calendar and serve as a mentor to the point person on our team. Through your guidance and weekly meeting together, we will create impactful pre-established social media posts to guide safe and skilled responses to each disaster that may occur. Each series of posts should address a specific disaster response and WCC’s training that addresses it. We will create a campaign for our Ukraine Deployment and for our annual fundraiser.

An example of a series would be Hurricane Preparation and Flood Response.
1. Prepare your home: a deck on several of the tile provided in Reduce the Risk
2. Check on your neighbor: a deck on things to do to help others provided in Ready to Respond
3. Get Ready to Help: a deck on preparing to be a volunteer provided in Ready to Respond
4. Learn Muck and Gut Skills: a deck on muck and gut skills: Provided in Safe and effective Iid Response.

Each deck should provide valuable tips and direct people to take the associates online training.

Additional content may be needed so that we have a library of promotional and informative posts ready to go.

The project will be managed through a project plan in Smartsheet and weekly meetings with the operations associate and implementation managers. The graphics will be developed in Canva. Much of the information can be gathered from www.disastervolunteerismacademy.org, the news, and other sources

The project should start with the talented mentor providing a schedule of what we can accomplish each week. A weekly check-in, producing a social media and marketing plan, a content calendar, and ultimately producing with our team several template options for each outlet, i.e. Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, etc. After the templates are approved, the content for each series will be developed by our team. Weekly meetings with the team will help provide insight and direction.
